The path less traveled: My favorite parks in Denver

I’ve been living in Denver for quite some time now, and my fascination for parks has led me to discover the beauty even in some of the lesser-known sights. So, without further ado, here are my favorite parks in Denver:

1. Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre

Exploring the mile-high city won’t be complete without a trip to Red Rocks. The all-natural amphitheater is a dream venue for musicians. Hikers will also enjoy miles of trails and a view of the rocks. What’ seven better is that entrance is free when there’s no scheduled performance.

2. Alamo Placita Park

The compact and perfectly manicured gardens that catch people’s eyes while driving down Speer Boulevard is a refreshing sight. Reminiscent of paintings, these flower gardens provide a great place for people who want to stop and marvel at nature’s beauty.

3. Denver Botanical Gardens

Sometimes, I like to practice photography in this park because there’s always something interesting going on. Despite the busyness around me, I enjoy how the park makes me feel relaxed. I personally enjoy visiting the Japanese Garden and have a cup of coffee afterward at the Hive Café.

Wherever I go, I always look for a place where green and natural sights can surround me. Thankfully, all these things can be found in Denver. As a retired photographer, I just can’t let these wonderful sceneries pass me by.
